Hi, I am Mike Richter. I'm seeking election to the Cherry Hill Fire Commission in November 2026, based on my long experience with Emergency Services.
Over many years, I've trained 100’s of Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, and Police Officers in the NJ EMT and Paramedic Programs. Professionally, I'm a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and I served as a volunteer EMT throughout NJ.
Volunteering is a calling for me. My father was a volunteer firefighter in our hometown in Bergen County, and I grew up seeing him respond to emergencies 24/7/365. When I was in high school, he got me involved with our local Volunteer Ambulance Squad, and I was trained with EMS crews from the age of 16.
In my college years. I was a professional EMT in New York City, and I worked in an Emergency Room when not responding to calls.
I believe in the oversight function of the CH Fire Commission, ensuring that fire, rescue, and emergency medical services are properly funded, staffed, and equipped to protect residents, businesses, and visitors.
I offer considerable business experience to the Fire Commission. In my Hospital career, I managed a RT Dept of 23 professionals in a busy 24/7/365 environment. I also was the Program Director for an AMA-accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
